I have 99.5 F-350 CC and the remote control for the mirrors don't work in all directions. Maybe a loose connection?? Where should I start and where should I look? Thanks for suggestions
Maybe check the fuses first, and then check the switch itself. I haven't had that problem yet, but I would think that if it doesn't work on either mirror, it would have to be fuse, wiring harness, or switch. Sorry couldn't be more helpful.
if you can get both mirrors to move in some directions, for example both move left, both move right , both move down, BUT both will not move up, then the comon item is the switch and not the mirror motor. if one mirror functions properly and the other does not, start thinking mirror motor or wiring, you can pop the plastic molding off the interior of the door, opposite of the mirror, and see if you can reach the wires and connectors, if not, you may have to remove the three nuts holding the mirror onto the door. gentle pull the mirror away from the door and see if the wires and connectors come with it, if not you'll have to remove the inner door panel (btw there is a screw under the lens for the courtesy light) to get to the connector. once you are to that point, check the connector to ensure it is seated properly, look for corrosion, bad wire crimps, damaged (kinked) wires, etc... try working the switch and wiggling the wires (if you have 3 arms)... also you cant just get a mirror motor you gotta buy a whole mirror assembly... and if that's the case get it off ebay, stay away from the dealers prices
