Not As Loud As You Want. The Cats Will Eat Away At Alot Of The Sound And The Mod Engine Doesn't Have That Traditional V8 Sound Anyway. If You Leave The Cats, Run Dual 2 1/2" Out The Rear With Either A 1 Chamber Flo Or No Muffler At All. That Should Give You All The Sound You Need.
Interesting, was thinking of no muffs.... wonder how it would sound?
The muffler shop i went to said more power from Magnaflow single out, but quiet sound, but i like the look of duals. He was talking Flowmasters with 3" pipes, is that too big? is there such a thing as too big?
I have a Supertrap muffler on my Suzuki 650 dirt bike, and it is pretty cool, adding baffle discs at the end of it to tune the power and sound. I have seen them on off road buggies too, and am wondering how that could be adapted to this truck?
Three Inch Is Just Not Necessary.(overkill In Duals). Three Inch Is Good For Single And 2 1/2" Would Be Fine For Duals. The Cats Muffle Quite A Bit And The Flowmaster Will Just Add That Chambered Firecracker In A Beer Can Sound. My Opinion Is That Dual 3" Would Just Be A Waste Of Money And Not Net You Any Power Gains.
Dual 2.25" would be plenty on a 5.4 (in true dual form), if you can, go and get 2 high flow cats and get true duals. It will be alot louder and net a bit more power. If you Y it after the cat then the pipe size shouldn't make much of a diff unless you go to small.
