6 disc cd changer ranger

My father installed a 6 disc cd changer in my 99 ford ranger. He mounted it in the back of my cab. The problem that i am having is that he hook it up to the battery (hot) and it drains my battery. I was wondering where I could hook it up so it can have power without draining my battery. It is a 6 disc jensen.

You might want to look and see if it has two power inputs one that supplies the power and one that turns it on. If it does then run the amp/antenna on power wire from the head unit. If it doesnt then you will need to put a relay in between the battery and changer. It will kill the power to the changer when the vehicles not on. Just hook the power on wire for the relay to the ignition. good luck with the fix, got anymore questions just ask.
