Winter gasoline?
It is a fact that the gasoline formulations change on a seasonal basis and in different regions of the country. This is for drivability, evaporative emissions, tailpipe emissions, forbidden/controlled additives in certain areas, and other reasons.
Your area may not require the emissions reducing stuff during winter, (check here to see if you do http://www.epa.gov/otaq/boutique.htm ) but you still do get "winter gas" and it may affect your mileage.
