My 2001 F-150 Super Crew, has had to set outside, in the cold weather the last couple of days.
Last night, it got down to about 10 degrees by 9 o'clock p.m.
I went to get it and put it in the garage, and it wouldn't start. It clicked when I turned on the key. (It set the alarm off when I tried to remote start it).
The battery is the original. So, I jump started it, and put it in the garage. This morning I put a battery charger on it at about 9:30 a.m. It's now 9:52 p.m., and the meter on the charger is down below "2" on the meter.
I'm guessing deceased battery ??
What do you think I'm figuring to go to the FORD dealership tomorrow morning, as I like the warrenty they put on the battery.
Sounds like the battery is in bad shape. You might take it and have it fully charged with a good charger then have them check it. Check the cells and also do a load test on it. 3 years old though it might be easier to buy a new one.
