right now i have 33" general grabber at tires on my truck. i would like to get something that does better in the mud but still being a high schooler with very restrictive parents, i cant spend alot of money on them. im confident that my truck will be able to fit 35" on it without any fender trimming so that is an option as well. does anybody know of good mudders that are cheap? and if so should i stick with 33" or move up to 35"? thanks a bunch!
Fine somebody with 33" or 35" tires that they want something bigger and just buy their used tires and pay them so they can get their new tires. This is assuming good tread left =).
find the nearest military installation to you, find out when their auctions are, or maybe even call their service office, any military bases that have hummers on hand sell the tires off them dirt cheap, i see them here in oklahoma city going for 35-45 bucks a tire, and those are 36" tires on 16 and 16.5 rims, and have at least 75% tread left, they arent very forgiving on rocks or pavement, but they are great in the mud and are tougher than almost any other tire around, thats why they ride rough.......
Look around for a discount tire shop, and ask them if they have any Daytona Radial Stag tires. They are very well priced, have a moderateto good wear life, and aggresive tread pattern while remaining street-able. Their sidewalls are a little thinner than others but acceptable for the price. But like others have said, you can sometimes find used tires for a good deal. Keep your eye on auto classifieds, postings in off-road shops or garages etc....sometimes people will get rid of a good set of tires for good prices for whatever reasons. Always keep an ear to the ground for these deals.

4in lift? you will not fit 35's without rubbing. Anyway I found my bfg 35's in the paper used for $200 With alot of ggod tread left. Since then I have found another set for $250. So check your news paper eveyday and sooner or later you will find some.
Also you might try to find some blems.

33s will fit stock, worst case he'd probably have to trim the bummer.
34" Super Swamper LTBs are $115-120 from 4wheelparts.
I had to trim the bumper with my 6in kit. I think it depends on if it is a mall crawler. With much articulation I would think they would rub pretty bad.
Adam - how do you use your truck? Is on road performance second to off road? Are you looking for new or used tires? If used you just need to do as everyone has suggested and look around and see what is available. If new then you have some choices to make. Bremen had a good suggestion on the LTB if you like bias-ply tires. If you are looking for a radial tire the Buckshot tires that f-4x4 mentioned and the Interco Trxus are ones you should look at as a starting point.
For cheap mud tires I'll say go kumho. i ran a set of their 31-10.50's a while back and was very happy with them for the price. I've heard a person complain about sidewall strength, but i never had an issue. 35-12.50's/15's go for about $110 from tire rack.
As for 33's vs. 35's it depends on the year of your truck, how much lift and how much trimming you're willing to do.
Stock 80-86's will fit 33's no problem and 35's with a little trimming, 4" of lift and 35's fit fine and 37's with minor trimming.
86-96's usually need the bumper trimmed or spaced forward to fit 33's and need some fairly substantial bumper trimming to go 35. 4" lift fits 33's no problem, and normally needs some bumper trimming or spacing to get 35's on.
80-86 truck's look good with 35's and the body line cut out around the wheels, really sharp and you can fit a 35x12.5 with minor rubbing when turned lock to lock on the radius arms or leaf springs depending what model of truck you have.
