ever since it got cold out (- digits ) my water pump started leaking looks like it coming from behind belt pully on water pump
only leaks when engine is running and engine is warm or up to operating temp
is it normal for them to leak in - degree temps or do i need a new pump or should i wait until the outside temp gets above 0
any thoughts or suggestion
thank in advance for any replys
In my experiences with any waterpump, once it starts leaking from the weap hole, it will only get worse w/time. Having changed mine just last week because of the same symptoms, I really don't think the PSD waterpump is any different. I would change it.
You need a new pump, when they weep failure is not far behind. Guy I met in Florida two weeks ago let his go, when it failed it took out the radiator. When you change out that pump get a coolant filter set up < 100 bucks. It will take about three filter elements over the first 5K miles to clean out the system, Then once a year filter change after that. The blocks have casing sand and depending on the coolant you use solids formed by old SCA's. Once it is clean and you keep it clean you will probably never have to change another pump.
