No 4x4
I have a 1997 expedition. Today I was cutting wood and loading it into my trailer and got stuck. I went to shift into 4 wheel drive and it went right in. So I turned the truck and trailer around and got stuck again. I put the rig into 4 low and the transfercase made a clunk noise and now it wont go into 4 hi or 4 low. It will however go into 4awd (all wheel drive), and it also makes a clicking noise after turning on the key somewhere either inside under the dash or in the engine compartment I havent traced it down yet, the indicator lights except the awd light won't come on. I have checked all of the electrical connections and made sure that the fuses are all good. I am not sure what the problem is but I would like it if anyone can give any info on this topic..

Welcome to the site!
Start out by checking the actual switch on the dash. They are notorious for failing in the '97-'98 models. If the switch checks out ok, check the wiring down to the shift motor on the transfer case... then check the motor itself.

Also check your vaccuum actuator on the front differential. It is common for the lines to be broken or pulled loose, especially if it has been in any kind of brush or off road. It is located on the front of the differential under the black plastic cover right next to the gear housing.
