Driver side door handle...
has no "resistance" when lifting it to open the door. All the other doors on my 97 explorer are "tight" and the driver's side door handle is not. Didi I lose a srping or something?

Will it Still open the door? The ford explorer are very bad for door handles going bad on the inside and on the outside. I have been selling them on ebay for a couple of years, and by the numbers I have sold I guess it is very common.
You should pull you door panel of and check that the rods connecting the door handle to the latch are still connected and not loose, the rod from the door handle down to the latch slide or strip out sometimes so start there. If not jump on ebay and buy a new door handle.
