Door latch screw broken off
Door latch screw broken off
My 95 explorer, in replacing the broken door ajar switch, one of the three screws to remove the latch is broken off. My door ajar light will not go off. Do these three screws have a function such as grounding, or are they just to hold the latch in place? Also how can I find which door is ajar or which switch is bad? I have done the wd-40 spray and checked most of the switches. I thought if I disconnected a switch the light would go out? I really don't want to visit the dealer for this.
I have a 95 Explorer and my Door Ajar light wouldn't go off and it turned out to be a cracked rubber cover around the door latch of my back lift gate. I turned it around a little and it fixed it. It isn't a permanent fix but it'll work for a while. Hope this helps.
