Hot Floor
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 19-Sep-02 AT 11:11 PM (EST)]I have a 1986 F-250 460 engine and noticed lately that the cab seems to be venting in hot air that feels almost like it is coming from a heater duct but that is closed. I then started to feel around and found that the floor was quite hot. Has anyone had a similar problem or know what might cause this. Is the tranny heating up,(the fluid looks fine) or is it possibly a partially restricted exhaust. Any ideas?????

Hot Floor
My floor will get quite warm (not really hot) when towing my trailer, especially in the mountains, when I am working the truck quite hard. This is simply the exhaust manifolds getting extremely hot. In fact, it is common for headers to get red hot, and they run not far from the floor boards.
My floor is not noticably warm when running empty however. Just when towing hard.

Hot Floor
I have an 86 F250 with 5.8L auto. My wife has noticed the floor above the transmission to be hot. But, most of the time I am running with a camper close to GVWR. Engine temp does alwys show hot, but the floor does get quite warm.
