Power steering problem.....help
I have a 1992 f250 4x4 with 460 and i got home today after a day of towing and when i went to park my steering got real hard and i looked under the truck and there was a huge leak. the hoses look ok and the pump is still full. What could it be? theres a fair amount of fluid sprayed around and there was even some collected on top of the pump cap. Please help, thanks.

i had the same prob last summer. your fluid probably came from the steering box so you will have to change the seals (lower kit). the cause of the problem for me was a pressure valve at the pressure line just inside the pump. when you remove the fitting at the pump you will see it, you might need a magnet to pull it out. it kind of looks like a mushroom and in the stem of it there is a little screen, dont bother to clean it, replace it. this fixed the prob for me.
