Rear ABS
Hi, anyone help? I have a 1987 Ford F250 with the 6.9 diesel. The rear ABS is not working. Found a fault in valve unit and replaced but rear brakes still locking. Question is where do I find the controller module?

you may have a problem with your proportioning valve. i have also seen this problem when the front flex hoses are bad, check to see if they are bubbled. this may throw off the proportioning valve. i have seen this fix this problem before. if you unplug the abs at the rearend and it still locks up then you can tell it is not the abs. i do suspect the front flex lines, common for the ford.

Thanks for the replies guys. The rear brakes lock with the lighest touch of the brake pedal. When ignition is switched on the ABS light stays on for about 3 secs. then goes out. If rear axle sensor is unplugged the ABS light stays on all the time but goes back to normal when sensor is plugged in again. Brake pedal is good with little travel. Front and rear flex hoses are probably original so may be suspect-I will check.
