I ordered a "Reef Clean-crew" live animals package for my saltwater aquarium. Took the day off, my work wanted me to come in anyway. So I called them to see if they would call me when it came in that night and I'd pick it up. No problem, but despite it being shown as being at the distribution center it wasn't ready for pick-up, and they never called. At 9:30 AM they called. I went down there and they couldn't find the package. I rushed back home, and didn't get a delivery after waiting all day. They told me the label had been scanned, but the package hadn't arrived?? Three weeks later Fed-X delivered a very smelly package to my doorstep, unsigned. Their final excuse was I wasn't at home when delivery was attempted, even though none of their tracking showed this.

I have had the same problem with Fed Ex, saying no one was home when I was here, had another time saying the y had delievered it and it was no where to be found. Found out the guy said it just so he could go home then came back the next day to drop it off. I have complained many times and does no good.
I have had similar problems with DHL, but not near as bad. UPS has always had it here when they said they would.

Fed-Ex, or Fed-Ex ground. They are two different companies under the same parent corp. Fed-ex is paid hourly drivers, ground are independent contractors, they own the route and truck and have to pay for them and any problems. So I recommend you specify ground if you want the packages delivered Fed-Ex, which is usually cheaper and just as fast as UPS. Because the driver will get penalized for a lost or undelivered package, also ground can driver release a package as long as it is not cod, or a high dollar value package, where as fed-ex has to have you sign the door hanger(if they leave it) before they can driver release a package.

that is what happen to me...they dropped it off today when the said that they did yesterday. I have never had problems with fed-ex overnight, but fed-ex ground is a bunch lairs. Ups has always been on time for me

I haven't had much trouble with either Fed-ex or Ups, but when it does happen it is really bad. I sent my computer back for repairs with fed-ex, and when I checked on it they said that they delivered the package to my house. the package was NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!!!!! I called them up, and they said they delivered it, and since this is a $1000 dollar computer not including my mod's on it, I am really P.O.ed!!! They say that they will speak to the driver. Well, two days go by and i hear nothing, so I call them back and they say that the driver didn't call them back, ad ask what the package was. I say "a $1000 dollar computer" Well that did it, they did a statewide search for it and still didn't find it. They call the driver and find that he delivered it to the wrong place- The driver didn't even check the label, because a place near me gets a lot of computers and so he just "assumed that it was sent there" WHAT?!?! HOW CAN YOU JUST ASSUME THAT A PACKAGE WAS JUST SENT TO A CERTAIN LOCATION??? Luckely the store that recieved it noticed the mistake and the driver recovered it.

So i open the box up (a week and a half late) and i see that the styrofoam packing was in pieces and that all the pellets were loose! so I also go ahead and open the computer and what do i see? parts have fallen off and are just flying around the case! the hard drive bracket let go and bent, which is hard to do! also cables have been detached and the paint in the case is scrached totally off- it looks like the bed of a really old work truck, which is fine on a truck but not the inside of your computer! Luckely i am good with computers and I fixed it all, and amazingly the hard drive still lived! But it's UPS or USPS for me now!

Well for us we usually have two choices up here. Fedex air or UPS air. Both have been pretty good with the occasional delay. Overnight for us usually means 2-3 days. The good things is that some of the idots that sell and ship things up north have finally figured out that Alaska is part of the Contiental US. SO many vendors state they will not ship continental but when we call they state Alaska is not continental. Love to argue that with them. IT's contiguous (sharing border) not continental (part of). Off my soap box. Anyway they will start, they say, to offer ground shipping for us. Hopefully we wont run into the issues listed above. Overnight is fine but the cost of shipping sometimes can be in the 100's. Pretty outrageous. Hopefully ground wont be that much. The do have us by the you-know-what when it comes to shipping.

small items USPS (i have experienced a flawless 1000+ packages sent, no damage, using priority)

heavy items in small packages. UPS. They ship heavy cheaper. Especially overseas.

anything else..........DHL, they ship anything.

If you use Fed-ex use ground only, if at all.

The last time I let Fedex deliver to me I nearly had to be institutionalized. I was in such a fit of rage that you cannot begin to understand how PO I was at their driver. Fisrt off he delivered my package to the wrong address on Wed. I check tracking record shows delivery,I have nothing. Call fedex their record shows he delivered it to the wrong address and then he signed for it. The wrong address was about 2.5 miles from me. So the next day the same driver picks the package up, all is well right... NO The idiot has to drive past my neighborhood to get the package, then he put it in the truck and made the rest of his deliveries for the day . ON friday he divered it to the wrong address a second time and signed for it again....BP going up. HE got the call to get it. So he does and takes it back to fedex yard and locks it in the truck. I am calling the supervisor by now and getting quite irate because I have equiptment rented to install this package. She looks around and finds it in the truck. She apologizes to me for the hassle, I say ok I be right up to get it. She says sorry its time to leave and that I won't be able to get my package till monday. BP going even higher now. I argue, beg anything to get it, she hung up on me.......I called fedex national headquarters they tell me nothing they can do about the package untill Monday. So my weekend is shot. On monday the driver is now scared to come to my house so he doen't deliver the package. I call the yard supervisor a different person answers when I tell him what has transpired he apologizes. I say don't apologize Take my D*&^ package to Dominnoe's they know where I live. I want my stuff tomorrow. Tuesday mornig a UPS truck shows up at my door with my package and yes it has my address on it. The fedex driver was a moron. I call the yard sup back and thanked him for finally getting my package to me. He apologized again and said something to the effect that the driver was busted down to a smaller route and that the woman who hung up on me was let go. I said awww too bad for them. WIth her attitude she would make a great drive thru attendant.

When I buy anything that needs to be shipped I ask them to use UPS or DHL. If they won't I won't do business with them.

My Dad worked 25 years for UPS
My brother has 5 years in as a supervisor at Fed-ex ground.
I'll go with UPS any day. At Fed-ex, the drivers are not employees, they are subcontractors with their own trucks painted with the fed-ex colors. Fed-ex really doesn't have much leverage with the drivers. I sat here and watched a fed-ex driver pull into our turn lane, sit by the road for a couple of minutes and then leave. He wrote on his report that this was a construction site with no one to accept the package. It was addressed to me and I watched him leave with it without even pulling in the parking lot. UPS driver had figured it out just by stopping and asking for me.

I get stuff from an online music store thru Fedx. They used to ship my stuff to the Fedx facility here in town from Memphis hub until they started using a contractor who works out of Memphis! So whatever I order gets here in the afternoon instead of early morning.
My daughter and her hubby work for Fedx in Memphis and she had a prblem with home delivery of a car seat for my g/daughter....they delivered it to a house 2 doors up and the folks used it. He wound up paying for a 100 dollar car seat.
As a rule, if order something from this company on regular ground service, I get it in 3 days. Overnight.....I get it overnight. Fedx screwed up going to subcontractors in my opinion.
