ball joint life

how many miles can i expect to get from balljoints? the are factory with 300,000+ miles on them. should i be worried? the truck is a 89 f-250 2wd.

Hello,

I have a '94 F240 4X4 @ 164k miles and the left went about a week ago. Guess it depends on geographical location and use/abuse...

My 93 F350's ball joints made it exactly 297,676 miles. Well, one of them made it. the other three were okay, but I didn't want to take the chance.

SIGH!! I guess I must have really bad luck or take my 2WD off road too many times. 211,000kms (125,000mi) I had to replace all four. I had a local wrench do them for me as I don't have the proper tools. The shop put in Moog parts and within two weeks they had to yank out two defective ones, both uppers, and replace them. That was about a year ago and all has been good since.
