Guess what Ivanita: I borrowed a welder today from some dude i know pretty well that he said I could take home and learn how to weld (long term hopefully) It's just a little 110, and i need to get new tips for it, but it's yet another thing to help me not to focus on my schooling lol. Of course it's too small to reinforce frames for power steering, and I dont trust my skillz anyways since i just fired it up today (catch my drift ) i guess i really didnt need to post, so now i'll just get back into my hole and leave everyone alone again. lol
Scott, don't you know you're supposed to post this usless BS in the NW forum where it belongs? Too cool about the welder. I'm thinking next week I'll be able to find a day to work on your truck.
ivan, i went up and looked at my truck this weekend and it looks like i dont have the same front hanger that you do. It looks like mine bolts up to the bottom of the frame and doesnt come up around the sides like the one you have. I am confused now. Is it because i have a 73 and you have a 78 or what? but i thought pro had a 73 and he did it. So any help would be appreciated.
The earlier trucks have a bar or tubing of some sort that runs under the frame rails and the hangers attach to that. It is setup slightly different but you can still build drop hangers easily, whether you build them off the the current hangers or make a tube hanger like mine that will wrap around the frame.
Pro has way more into his hangers than I do because he's using a late 80's axle with the wider spring pads. Because of this his hangers have to be wider than his frame. My design is based off his hangers but I didn't have to widen them any.
thanks for the info. i got confused when i seen mine compared to yours. I am working on it right now in school so i will have it done for the spring mud runs with my new dana 60 in the front to, so i cant wait. I will post pics when i am done.
I want to follow what you two are doing, though on a less extreme level (much less =P). The good thing - I have Rob 45 minutes away to drive over to and make sure all is well with whatever I end up doing. =). I doubt he'll let me do something stupid along the way.
I can't help it he's the one trying to talk me into things. Are you still serious about me entering my truck at Reasoner?

of coarse I am still serious, I think you would have alot of fun, and then it would be easier to convince you to build a mud truck, but seriously I am always trying to get people interested in the sport of offroading, and this is something you can do to see how good your truck is and have fun without worrying about getting in trouble for tearing up someones field or getting stuck and having to figure out how to get it out.
And Ivan what exactly are you trying to say I would never do anything like that
