Got a friend wanting to trade me a '52 1/2 ton sb. I went and looked at it today and it's not in too bad of shape. The cab is good but paint is all bubbling up away from around seams, bed is good but welded metal floor, drivers running board has a few small holes,pass. side looks good, doors are good with small holes starting on front inside bottom corners. The bad part is the front fenders. The pass. side is trash and drivers maybe could be salvaged but rusted through where seam is. The grill and hood are good. It has the original flathead V8 that ran a few years ago but has been taken out and a 360 in its place. He wants to keep the 360 but that's fine with me. I know nothing about these trucks so how hard is it to find the front fenders?

1/2 ton fenders are the hardest thing to find for the 48-52 trucks, but not impossible. Look on E bay, as the come up there . Post a wanted ad on this site. You can use fiberglass repos, of varying quality, depending on who you get them from. No one is repoing in steel yet, as far as I know.

Mike, I may still have a contact out in So. Cal that may have a solid set of fenders. I know he's got cabs and hoods. I'll try and track him down and see what he's got and shoot you a reply if I make contact.
