Grille's done!!!
I seriously doubt if I'll manage to successfully imbed the photos into this note, so assuming I am unable to, check out my grille gallery.
The grille is "finished". The 54 Pontiac center section is in, the Lambert Enterprises LED flush mount signal lights are in, the Hella Halogen H2 sealed beams are in, new wiring harness, etc....
There's still some body work that needs to be done to it. I've done the best I can, but it'll need a pro bodyman's touch before the truck ever hits the road...At least it's done enough that it won't rust while it's waiting for the rest of the truck to catch up....
Maybe that young whipper-snapper - Mr4speedford can pull the last three photos from my grille gallery and stick them into a reply to this note....

Very nice indeed - and that's coming from a stocker boy. I never used to think Canada and funky went together - but you're changing my mind. It certainly is a fashion statement!
When can you come on down to the states and help out a poor wretch whose sheet metal welds have been compared to bird droppings?

When ya first started with this idea I was teasing ya about some sorta Carp Mouth Contraption that you were gonna build. Oh how wrong I was.
It's a HammerHead Carp Mouth Contraption.
A good one no doubt.
First, I’d like to thank the Academy and FTE,
I’d like to thank Penn Dick for alienating that guy in N.Y. so much that he couldn’t get the first Poncho grille for $200. USD Then there’s the bugger on Ebay that outbid me and took one for almost $300.usd……
I’d like to thank Ozzie for finding me one here in Canada for just $100. cdn
The guy that recommended the Evercoat putty after the debacle with the UV putty
My wife for her constant encouragement (i.e. what the H are you doing down there? The fumes are killing me….for pete sake….)
The guy that steered me towards Lamberts for the LEDs. They were good to deal with and I love their product.
George - for the exploded view of the bucket assys. And that was from a supposed dyed-in-the-wool light-sider, knowing full well he was helping he was helping me with a dark-side project. Makes you wonder……George, is there something you’re not telling us? Did you want to come out of the closet? We’re here for you man!
Mtflat - for inserting the picture in the thread for me….I just can’t get that down yet….
‘fenders - of course. Without his constant encouragement and consultation, it would have taken me at least 9 minutes more to finish this project….
Lastly – Jim Richmond who I stole the idea from. (All I did was add the flush mount LED signal lights to the concept.)
Seriously though, yah it looks like a fish, but a really sharp fish and I’m very happy with it. This is a fairly low buck project, so I’m happy to find inexpensive ways to set it apart and hopefully improve/enhance the look of it. I really think the lines will compliment the lines in the truck and the LEDs flow nicely too. (Course it’ll be another 2 – 3 years before I have any front sheet metal to bolt it to….) See Peter, I gave much thought to what blends, to proportions, fung shwei and all that fancy-shmancy industrial design crap you’re always spouting…
Before I close off, just a few points of clarification;
George – I welded in the patches to close up the old wiring grommet holes, but they didn’t go well with my little flux core welder. I had a pro weld the center to the buckets (from the behind the center.) Used my finger to put the putty to the front of the seam to get the perfect radius on the joint. I’d offer you my finger but I’m too busy giving it to ‘fenders right now. See this ‘fenders ……this digit’s for you. Lastly – Cda and funky…..yep, I’m the Chip Foose of the Great White North…., well not quite…well , not even close….but thanks.
Mr4speedford – where the heck were you when I needed you? I’m disappointed kid. You can redeem yourself by inserting one of the close ups that shows the LED signal light better – cause they’re really cool. And one other thing – “look’s like ET’s head but wider”. Are you even old enough to remember ET or did your Mom tell you to say that?
Thanks guys for the compliments.
Once again – this forum came through when I needed the help…some small things…some big things….it’s great having friends like you.

You have REALLY got game man. Have not seen better grill or idea on these trucks in a long time and I see a lot per year. You go man!!!!!!!!
