I like Peterson's and 4Wheeler. Their ultimate Off-road vids are pretty cool.
I like watching Pewe get stuck in 4" of mud with 40" tires on that avalanche.
funny stuff
i'v noticed that the mags very rarely do articles on fords it always chevy, dodge or jeep
yes...this is a fact most are biased towards chevys! not to mention everyone that buys those trucks (mostly high skool kids that buy their mags) has no clue what they are doing and thy wanna be cool. just like that joker that was selling that POS F-150 on ebay!
It's the same no matter what your hobby. The mags are usually for wannabe's or for people who are just starting and want to learn something from people who they think should know what they are talking about. The old saying still holds true.
"Those who can, do.... Those who can't, teach......." or write for mags.
I've met quite a few of the magazine types. Some are o.k. Others are all about looks. Quite a few of them couldn't change a tire without roadside assistance.
I just like the pretty pictures of all the poor soul's that drive rigs that they think is da' bomb, if you know what i mean.
But every now and then there is a good tech articles and stats. and such on commonly asked questions that you find a lot of different answers on, i've been going through all my mag's (before i moved last week for school) and clipping out all the good articles and stat. lists to make a make shift "bible" of sorts (i've even been grabbin stuff off the net) for all those commonly asked q's that no one know all the answers for.
Most of those trucks in the mags are show trucks not for 'real' off roading. There are a few exceptions but with a truck as nice and expensive as some of those there is no way I'd ever take em near a rock or mud Also big lifts are only good for off-roading and have no practicle use in normal day to day truck stuff. I've been dying to tear into my '88 f150. I'd love a lift and motor swap (460 sitting in the garage). But after being stuck so many times in my younger days I'm trying to keep it reliable and usable. It's why I bought it in the first place.
But oh that 460 would be nice and a lift with tires.......... it's da devil
