fuel injection conversion

I have a 81 ford f-100 2wd flareside truck with the original 300-6.I want to convert it over to a fuel injected 302.I have a 89 f-150 donor truck with the complete drivetrain and wiring harness and computer. Will this be a easy conversion? has anyone ever done this that can give me any good tips or usable imformation? what stays and what gets tossed? will i be happy with the outcome? how long would it take to do this conversion? do i need to change my rear gears also? the 81 has a 9inch rear with 3;08 gears. i have another 9inch center with 4;10 gears. the transmission i will be using is the AOD from the 89.what interior modifications will need to be made? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!

I would replace the fuel system from the tank forward. I would highly recommend the above book. it's the one I have, and tells you everything you need to know about Ford efi. You can get it here.
