I have a 99 F550 dump 7.3 I had some injectors replaced 1500 miles ago for a cold smoke problem .The dealer replaced 6 injectors ,it does not smoke to much now but it does have the rough idle now and does not seem to have the power it did have.Any ideas!!!!!
Might be your Injector Driver Module. When I had an injector go out a couple years ago, happened twice actually, but when the bad injector was still in it, it had a lot less power than it did when it came out with a new injector and IDM. Just a thought.
ive installed dozens of those ford reman injectors (i say reman cause most of them from ford are )just cause there new dont mean squat ive had my share of bad new ones alot of psd idle problems caused by oil getting past those o rings since they are bathing in oil bitch to the dealer why did they leave the other two?i have several friends at various ford dealerships and talk to them everyday they have lots of injector stories (put em in took back out)not to say you could have another problem but man those injectorsalso try delvac 1300 super when we use it it uses no oil between changes 3000 miles rotella uses 3 qts.that means its getting past those injectors since change to delvac (mobil)trucks idle better and dont loose oil 9 powerstroke wreckers runnin 24 7
thats a whole noter chapter just posted a air filter warning earlier we use aftermarket cone type they work well it you stay on top of them lot and lots of oil the dirt still gets by them and been wearing out the fins on turbo but have some trucks with over 200 thous. miles (hard start at 6am dont shut down till well after midnite not even at break we let em run idle all day )havent found a great alt. no motor problems internally that is the stock filters just clogged to fast and to costly even at wholesale have had powerstrokes 99 with over 500 thous miles so the guys that say those cone filters will loose half the life of engine i guess im just lucky but we clean them weekly and oil them till they drip then oil them again good luck
