98 Explorer Suspension problems
My sons 98 Explorer Sport makes clunking type noises when it hits bumps.I recently replaced all the shocks,but that did nothing to help it.Bushings,maybe?
Also,when you come to a complete stop,the rear end seems to set down,or it seems to squat and then rise..is this normal?

Ball joints are a big problem on the Explorers. As for the squating and rising I would tend to think the rear brakes are doing too much of the braking. I'm no expert but if the front/rear ratio was off that would be a big symptom.

ok..thanks guys..I had the truck in for new tires last summer and they aligned it..it isnt wearing the tires at all,and actually passed a NY State inspection.It had those same symptoms then..I will make sure to check those out though.
