460's and cams
HI everyone thanks for reading this post. I am planning on building a 460 motor for my 79 f150. I am looking at compeition cams K-kits. They have two different kits for a 460 one has 230 degrees duration with 560 degrees lift all around the other one has 253 degrees duration with 585 degrees of lift. Does anybody know if the bigger cam will fit without flycutting the pistons if the pistons have valve relifes? Also which cam would you reccommend. I mostly go through mud with this truck. The power range is from 2,000-6,000 on the littler cam and 3,000-6,800 on the bigger cam. Once again thanks for reading this.

If I were you I would go with the smaller cam. Especially if the main purpose is off-roading. I wouldnt want a real lopy cam in off camber positions like hill climbing or decents. Low-end tourque is also really important and smaller cams build better low-end torque.
