All,
82 f150. Key switch. It rotated way beyond normal. I had been having trouble with the key switch for sometime and it finally gave out. My question is this...will I have to remove the steering wheel in order to get the key switch out? I've replaced the ignition switch (on the steering column) once before so I know that there is a rod that extends upward from the ignition switch to the key switch. I'm just wondering if the steering wheel has to be removed to access the key switch.....
Thanks,
Johnny
My book says yes, you have to remove the wheel. Behind the wheel there is a retaining pin you have to push in to pull the lock cylinder out while it is in the on position. So you should disconnect the battery too.
