Couple Questions

i was just wondering if you guys new were there was a key to read my vin to find out what motor my ford has in it. also this is not a highboy year right? becuase my truck is high up and sits on a set of 33s i dont know much about it i just bought it and i knwo the motor is just been being rebuilt but i would like to know what i got. Thanks

It's the 8th digit. Will be a letter. But I don't know the letter codes though.

Couple Questions

I don't have my chilton book handy, but I believe if you got one, you would get a complete breakdown of your VIN, including the engine.

Couple Questions

Highboys only came with a divorce transfercase I think.. that basically means that there is a drive shaft from your tranny to the case.
forgive me if im wrong .

Couple Questions

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 17-Oct-02 AT 00:38 AM (EST)]its a normal ford with a 4" lift i found out that by when i drove it wander all over like a duck headin south for the winter come to find out that the guy forgot to put the shims in so i have to put them in this weekend LOL nice huh evey thing else is done perfect motor and what not iam thinkin it was a late night modifcation

E--6 cyl--300CID--4.9-Liter--1BBL-Carburetor--1980
F--V8-----302CID--5.0-Liter--2BBL-Carburetor--1980
W--V8----351MCID--5.8-Liter--2BBL-Carburetor--1980
Z--V8-----400CID--6.6-Liter--2BBL-Carburetor--1980


If the vin # has 17 digits let me know. The engine code will be the 8th digit then.

hey thinks alot it has 11 didgits and its the F so its 302 wich aint back i guess lol. Thanks
