I'll stay away from any Bosch products, considering their crappy spark plugs and wires. I buy Motorcraft filters from Autozone for about 3 dollars each.
I'm a fan of Fram filters because they have antidrain back and are as cheap as any other, I also second the Bosch comment except they make great coils. I've used Fram in my race cars for as long as I can remember and never had contaminant, even with N20 and abuse from cold.
I'm not a real bosch basher since I haven't had any problems with their plugs or filters yet.
One thing I did learn about wires is the Double Silicone plug wires at Autozone suck. The shortest ones didn't even reach the rear drivers and passenger plugs due to the time constraints I bought another box of the Silicones just to get the 2 wires I needed to reach the plugs.
Next time I'm going OEM on the wires for sure and if the plugs aren't much more expensive them too why waste time with the trip to autozone if I'm at the dealer already .
But I don't have any problems with Bosch theres Bosch filter in my Aero right now and I haven't had any problems.

I read an article on another site about an oil filter study where they evaluated the construction quality and performance of a variety of filters.
The study found the Fram Tough Guard to be mediocre at best and went on to state that the Fram Extra Guard and Double Guard filters are "Not recomended".
I also read that Fram actually produces 2 different lines of filters using the same part numbers, the better of the 2 is for sale at auto part stores and the other is for sale at discount chains like Wal-Mart etc. (I dont know this to be factual, I just read it)
The motorcraft filter among others (including Bosch) ended up on thier list of recomended filters.
I use Fram in my race car and have yet to be let down by them, the other vehicles I don't know if anything is better than anything else as I never pull those engines down, i also read but i also know what works for my engine, however one type of oil os also sometimes regarded as better and this to would effect the filter performance would it not??? a 'recommended' filter is certainly not a substitute for regular oil and filter changes, thats like getting better air if your fuel is not as good, Fram may not be the best but it does work, as would the bosch and the motorcrafft one, this debate is going the way of regurgitated tests done by whom???, I'll bet there's a manufacture at the bottom of it, just like the worldwide LRP fuels, or even the better the reduction of harmful gasses by converting them into cyanide!!!!!!!!!. Still you have the 'facts' and that should help you dedcide, or not as the case may be. What will be the next filter out of the box on my car?, well that would be telling.
