I finally found a new fuel tank sending unit for the 65 Econoline. It is a Ford original and in the original package. I of course don't believe that $175 is the original price, but this is what was quoted. Please help me with advice on where to find a cheaper new, used, rebuilt one or how to pull mine and breath some life back into it.
michael, check with mac's auto parts. [ site sponsor, just click the link in my sig.]
you can use the sending unit from a 60-63 falcon, it requires a little adjustment to the arm, but that is all. wagons and rancheros wont work, has to be a regular car.
email me and i can give you a guys email addy, he may have an extra. he is in virginia, and there are a couple guys in the carolinas.
I found a company and have a new sending unit in the mail with the gasket and new ring for $58. Are we able to post the shortcuts here? Or email me if anyone wants the web site. He has a down loadable pdf. parts list.
Hey if your in the Carolina's there is an Econo parts NOS supplier there. Look up Dennis Carpenter Ford Trucks. He has a website and makes lots of rubber items to help with restorations of econo's. Get lights, window rubber, door rubber, flooring. That would be a help you down there. I'm up in Canada and it costs more to ship and dollar exchange. Good luck.
I am from Nova Scotia..I am thinking of bringing a few parts and pieces home to canada in the next few weeks...I found 4 econolines...I am going to fix 2 of them..So I should have lots of spare parts. What are some of the things that are hard to get. I want to make a list of what I have and try to sell off the extras to fund the restoration.
It is good because I have enough to gear up two 5 bolt hub set ups...Only one automatic set up though
Still looking int odisk brake set ups....And I need to round up a 200 6 cyliner motor here. There is one here that needs to be rebuilt ..But the guy wants $250 for it..way too much.
