Well I just got off the phone with the dealer. I asked whats going on with my truck and he told me he has a few more things to check out on it. Then he told me that the "fixes" that ford has in the TSBs are not really working and he doesnt really wanna start taking my truck apart when it might not fix the problem. He told me that all he can do is document everything cause he cant fix it, so i can take it to the DB..whatever that is!!!
Sounds like your dealer is being straight up and helping you out!
The "DSB" (Dispute Settlement Board) is a means of addressing issues with your vehicle that Ford can or no longer will fix. Look in your owenrs manual, or do a search on this forum for "DSB".
I take it your truck has vibes. Make sure you document EVERYTHING, especially the dealers statement he's had it and doesn't want to go any further.
Again...do a search in this forum, and you'll get more info on the DSB and buy-back process than you could ever imagine.
Thanks Don, Ill find out more info when I pick my truck up. He told me that he will document it, so hopefully I can get this resolved one way or another. How do I do the search for the "DSB" info on guys that have gone this route? Thanks again Don
Just scroll up to the top of this page...you'll see the blue toolbar, starts with "user CP", "FAQ", keep going to the "search" tab and type in DSB. That should get you plenty of results.
Or, you could just keep clicking back in the pages of this forum (found at the bottom of this page) til you see the subject.
Sorry your Ford is not working out for you, but there just are some that have this bug. Most of 'em don't, so if you get them to buy it back, maybe you would want to try another...but make sure you test drive thoroughly before signing anything (there's also alot of that discussion here!!)
