Edge killed another transmission....
One of my friends at school has an 04 6.0 extended cab short bed fx4, he was telling me about it because he got it recently, and i have yet to see it. He told me that he loved the truck, the previous owner had completely serviced it before he bought it, and that it came with an EDGE tuner..... he told me that about two weeks ago it started shifting really bad, truck ran fine otherwise. He said he was thinking it had something to do with the rear-end. I told him wrong, the edge tuner killed the trans, truck only has 47k miles on it. Then i explained that EDGE doesnt reprogram the TCM module, he said yeah he knows. then i asked why didnt he take it out when he bought the truck. his response was "I really liked it because it made her black smoke really good." I didnt call him an idiot, but i said thats the reason your trans is dead, and i bet your turbo goes next with all the excessive smoke, cause a VGT turbo doesnt like excessive smoke. then he said "well at least it was badass."
Just throwing this out there, more prove that idiots with crappy tuners only break their trucks and **** the tree huggers off when he blow smoke all over.

I have had a couple of people recommend the edge insight to monitor performance. Is this the same thong that is being referred to here? Not trying to hijack the thread, but rather be clear if we are talking apple and apples or something else. Thanks!

No, Insight is strictly a monitor. You should be good to go with that.
