OK, back to my rear shackle installation dilemma: I've learned that I'll either need to use a huge breaker bar plus an impact wrench to bust the top rear shackle bolts loose, OR heat then the impact wrench/breaker bar combo.
My next question is this: Will I need to replace the stock nuts/bolts if I heat them? Will they lose strength? Should I replace with stock nuts/bolts? or get some super-duper heavy duty nuts/bolts as replacements?
Has anyone replaced their stock rear shackles with the LORD'S "Velvet-Ride" shackles? What hiccups did you encounter (besides just the removal of the original shackle nuts/bolts?)
Wow all mine came off nice but I have all heavy duty tools and a good impact gun.
Thats probably the issue most impacts are low in power.. As far as heating you can use the stock bolts again if you don't get them too hot. Nowhere near red hot. And always use factory fasteners.
My opinion get a good impact gun and 125 psi min and watchem fly off..Or bring it somewhere and have them loosened up.
