check out the front page of www.flatratetech.com , this is some really bad news. ford has ordered a stop ship on 4.6 and 5.4 powered trucks for a compression problem due to a valve seat . whats next?
Good thing I clicked on this topic because my wife and I were going this weekend to see about buying a 2005 Expedition. Is there anyway to declare with the VIN# where the vehicle was assembled? Reason being that if I can match the appropiate character with the plant specified and see if its not one of those in question then I'll go ahead and buy but if not then I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Usually between the dealer sticker and the little window label you should be able to tell.
The dealer sticker in the lower left corner, and the "little window label" reads something along the lines of "Built with Pride by UAW Local ..." etc etc
you can see from the blue oval news that they went to certain plants and have been told stop shipment on. the ford price label states final assmbly point as the union label also states. please read and make your own mind up. this is just some news i felt we should be aware of. if there is a problem a new head and maybe 2 days down time .its not a super big thing.
I saw that Ford believe little or no engines left the plant. I don't know how much of that I believe but it makes me a little eery. I guess I should have nothing to worry about though. I'll check into it when I go to the dealership this weekend.
