1986 Ford Ranger
2.9L 4X4...I'm driving along and my fuel pump stops working and the truck dies. Sometimes I can start it right back up and other times it will take quite awhile. It is happening more frequently now. When I brought it into the shop the mechanic bypassed the enertia switch and said that was the problem. It has happened three times since then. It doesn't have to get hot to quit. It won't start now after sitting all day.

I changed fuel pump relay and nothing. HELP!
