Be careful with the loud exhaust. I didn't think they were strict here and they aren't on sound, and I got pulled over about a month ago, for loud exhaust. I'm actually the first person in city history to get pulled over for loud exhaust. I could understand if I was running open out of headers or something, but I had stock manifold with one gutted cat, the other still had stuff, and a 40 series flowmaster, that dumped right before the axle. Now I have both cats gutted but I still have it dumped before the axle, and it is loud.. very loud... lol. I don't know what it is about my engine that makes it loud, because I have a friend with a fullsize Bronco, with a 302, and he has headers and no cats, with true duals with 30 series Flows.. So just watch out, but the cherry bombs kinda give it a high pitch sound, I had them on before the flow and I didn't like it, but thats IMO.
See the thing is I live in MI and they will let almost anything go. I mean My brother got away with a 302 in his Stang with open headers. I know in other states it is different.
Same thing here, my friend has a 454 in his Chevy, and he runs open headers all the time, never has he gotten pulled over. I was mad that I did, because I am literally the first person to get a ticket for this. When I went in to pay for it (it said I had to go to court, but I didn't) I asked about the ordinance this was under, and everybody looked at me confused, that a cop wrote me a ticket for this. Took them 30 minutes to find it in their books. Cost me $85, but nothing's on my record.
