I was under the impression this was a online thing.
Chapters are supposed to meet offline ? My mistake.
You bet. The Kansas chapter holds a cruise night each month in two different locations in the state. You really can't get to know people posting on line. You have to get out and meet people. BTW, anybody know why ratsmoker stepped down?
How much time would someone have to devote to this? I kinda of new, and don't know what it would take to do this, but I would like to see the chapter stay alive and see some meets around St. Louis. I live about 20 minutes south of downtown and would really be interested in anyone wanting to do something down this way.
You don't have to devote a lot of time, but if you say you will do something, you need to stick to it, IE, make a meeting, and say you will attend, it is best you actually do. The leader is responsible for the chapter memberships, which only take a few minutes not a big problem. You would be helping to organize meetings, which are in person, and try to get members involved, and bring in new members. It's not like you are taking on another part time job, it can be pulled off in one hour a week, if that's the level of devotion you choose. It isn't that bad, but can be very frustrating at times, due to lack of member input, kinda like is evidence here...
Show me WHERE to drive the nail and I'll be only too glad to drive it ... But don't expect me to just KNOW where to drive it !!! LOL (I'd probably drive it into a pane of glass ) What can I do to help fella's? I mean this in all sincerity. Paul
I don't think I'm ready to be a chapter leader, but I am willing to try and lend a hand to someone who is. I would try and make it to meets, it would just depend on day and location. I work on sunday so weekends are limited to Saturday and Friday night's if local. If I could be of any help let me know.
Well, we seem to have goten a little reprive here, so make the best of it. We finally seem to be gettting a few to speak up, that's the major thing, and get somebody lined up to run the show. It isn't a hard thing to be a chapter leader, but it can be trying, especially when the participation to your efforts come up low. First and foremost, we need to decide on someone to take the reigns so to speak, and take the position. I can work with whomever gets it, unless you all decidse I should just do it. But anyway, I have been the Iowa leader for a while, and it isn't that hard, for the most part, and doesn't have to take a lot of time away from your regular life. It would be best to have been active on the site, and have shown the qualities that are prerequisite to choosing a leader.
from the FTE guidlines: The Chapter Leader is responsible for seeking out new Chapter members on the FTE forums (we provide the tools for this), overseeing the organization of events, meetings and gatherings. Additionally, we encourage Chapter members to seek out new members at auto shows, fellow Ford owners in the work place and Ford truck owners you may encounter in your day-to-day life. You may even consider telling local dealerships or auto parts stores about your Chapter.
Where is everybody? I haven't been a member very long, but I'm at least trying to show some interest. With that said I don't think I've been around long enough to be the leader, but like I said before I'm willing to give someone a hand. By the way when was the last time their was a Missouri meet? Where was the location? Anybody think about asking their local Ford dealer about having a car show on their lot, I've seen a couple dealerships do it around here.
