There are two one on the engine and one below the drivers side on the frame. Refer to your owners manual. You might want to check out this site for fuel filters www.oilguard.com excellent prices. Beats the automotive shops.

I am not mechanically inclined, but I can follow good instuctions. I change the fuel filter on my wife's 7.3L, but haven't tried to change on my 05 6.0. I bought a 36mm socket to work on the horizontal fule filter and have drained the water out of the horizontal filter. I understand there is a notch on the filter and I want to make sure I do it correctly. Do I change both filters before cranking or do I change one first and then the other? A good set of instructions would really help.

Thanks in advance

I believe there are instructions at the top in the tech file somewhere. And yes, you change both before cranking, but before cranking, turn the ignition on and off a few times for 15 second intervals to let the fuel pump do it's job. Then it should fire right up.

When I changed my fuel filter on the motor, the sump was still full of fuel. I just put the new one back down in there and screwed the cap on. The horizontal was dry because I drained it through the drain hole before pulling the cap. Didn't know to cycle the key. Just started like normal. No problems, no leaks, no dealer profits

Click on the 6th thread from the top, the red one that says "read first", "tech folder". In there are all the different maintenance topics including changing fuel filters.
Someone was nice enough to organize all those in there for everybody.
