Seat swap question
I also have seats from a 1999 F250.
Two buckets and center seat armrest thing.
I took my bench out and set the new seats in my truck.
No holes line up. Seems like Driver's seat and center might work.
The track on passenger's seat touches the floor toward the center.
The part of the track towards the passenger door hangs in mid air
several inches from any metal to attach it to.
Can I change to different year track?
Make some mounts?
Anyone done this?
Since you have '99 seats, the tracks won't match the floor. My undersanding is that you can remove the '99 seat tracks and 80-96 seat tracks can be bolted to the '99 seats and made to work with the '82 floor pan.
If you do decide to fab some adaptors, make sure you reinforce the floor pan with additional sheet metal to attach the seats.
Looks like the forward outer hole on the tracks will need a spacer
fabricated. The other holes sit on the floor okay.
I wanted the tracks so I can have power seats.
I don't want to look for power 80-96 tracks.
I wish I could find a full size bronco passenger track so
I can get to the rear seat.
This way it is not usable unless you climb through the center.
I did this on an old Ford van I had that the side door wouldn't open
