who's got a child seat in the back of a SuperCab?
I currenty have my 2 year old's car seat in the center of the rear bench and has work great so far. But now she won't stop growing and her legs are getting too long to fit between center console / fold down jump seat and her car seat. I guess I have to move her seat behind the passenger seat but the downside seems like she will not be able to see much and the passenger seat will be moved up toward the dash.
Anybody else use a child's seat in a SC with success and the child (+ passenger) actually likes it? I guess the next one will have to be a crew cab but combined with the long bed that is one long A$$ truck ;-)

Strap her down in the bed, she's sure to love it
Luckily, my kids were grown enough not to need car seats when I got my '01.
I don't think you're supposed to have a car seat in a Supercab anyway
Like msbweiland said, different seat or different position for the seat? Can it be inclined more/less?

That is the main reason I went with a crew cab shortbed. I testdrove a supercab with my little girl's (almost 2yrs old) carseat in it and her feet were resting on the center console. It *might* have been do-able if that console was adjustable and I could've slid it forward. I had the same thought as you though (she's only gonna get bigger!) so I decided to hunt out a CC.
Other than a different truck, probably your best bet is to move the carseat to the pass side and slide that seat forward. Unless you'd be interested in removing that center console all together. That might be an option?
Good luck!

I had the same prob in my 99 supercab and I did just that - removed the console altogether. It was actually pretty easy - just need a wrench and I think it was a 55 torx bit. With the car seat was in the middle, my daughter had plenty of leg room. It was just a little wierd with no place to rest your arm when you're driving! Now that my other daughter was also growing, when it came time, I had to trade in the ole 99 and move on to an 08 crew cab. Kids love it, plenty of room but they still manage to kick the back of the seat if they try hard enough!

Good timing on this thread. Due to recent news it looks like my Ranger will have to go bye-bye. It doesn't enough room for 2 adults let alone for a car seat also. I can't do with a truck for the family and I need a F350 for the 5er.. was going to get a extended cab but from the sounds of it I need a crew cab.

I looked at it as an "opportunity", as they say in corporate America, and was able to convince my wife that it was clearly time to go with a crew cab long bed.
And yes, its huge.

Now I have room for the wife, 9 year old, 5 year old, and a set of twins all in the '03 F350 6.0 PSD LWB SRW CC 4x4! Three up front, three in the back. It was either the F350 or a mini-van.

I have removed my center console a couple of times in the past when I was "camping" in the front seat and yes it only takes 5 minutes to remove once you find where the bolts are. The downside is that I really like the storage space / cup holders / armrest of the center console.
Since my truck is only 15 months old I want to wait atleast another year or so until I shop around for a CC. My daughther really likes riding in the truck and the sound / vibration of the diesel puts her to sleep ;-)
