I was wondering what most people do to take care of their truck after a day of barrelling through water puddles and bog. Specifically for early 80's IFS components w/ kingpins. (I personally have no front axle, but others might)
Also, this may seem trivial, but how the hell do those grease points in the front steering/suspension work? I put a grease gun over the grease nipples and it just comes out all over (seems like nothing gets up into the actual joint)
The joints that won't take grease should be replaced. The fitting on the gun 'snaps' over the nipple, and should retain itself enough to grease the joint. Like I said, if the joint won't take grease, replace it before it breaks. As far as water sports, when you replace the joints, change the cartridge in your gun to boat trailer wheel bearing grease. This stuff is waterproof, and works great in steering components.
