Well that brings back a few bad memories...
Tony D- Master Certified Technician now working as a vehicle appraiser-a little less money-A LOT LESS WORK!
that is just one more reason. i have always done my own work. if i cant fix it it can't be fixed. that is my philosophy. not an expert by any means but i can defintley handle my own under the hood. thats why they make books. read people. working on cars is easy. not trying to take anything away from you payed mechanics but i couldn't afford one anyway even if i wanted to.
I now have come to the conclusion that Ford now makes crappy cars AND TRUCKS. With the 6.0 PSD, I would not touch the diesel with a 10 foot pole. I just sold my 7.3 PSD but I'm going to look for a used 7.3 PSD with less miles on it.
If they are all that bad, why on earth would you buy another one?

I am with you 1997F-350, I do my own wrenching, especially all the easy stuff like changing spark plugs (wife’s EXP.) fluids, ball joints, filters, universals, brakes, well you get the point. Now if it came to a complete rebuild, well that may be a different story. It is all in the manuals. I trust myself and would have no one else to complain to if something went wrong.
