Who is proud of their State? I'm not talkin' about whether you like the people who "run" it either...
If you have some state pride, sound off! I'm from the Empire State. I'd like to invite you to check out the State Forum section in the lobby area! It's open to everyone ya' know! Come on! Let's here it!
For now I live in the Great state of Michigan. I've been here for almost 50 years. But in less than 5 years i will be changing locations to the great state of ALABAMA!!! I left Alabama when I was about 4 years old. (No choise of my own) It wasn't until 2 years ago that I located my family from my dads side and found out that I had a 1/2 Brother and Sister that I didn't even know about.:-staun Now that I am about ready to retire I am making plans to relocate there and try to make up for all that lost time. Besides, it is soooo laid back down there, and that is what I need after being up here for all these years.
People I've been around all my life have said there is something wrong with me. I love greens, cornbread, blackeyed peas and kidney beans. ( I haven't quite developed a taste for grits yet.) I've always felt a little out of place here.
So I have to say I have 2 states that I am proud to say I belong to. Michigan, that I grew up in, and Alabama that everyone I know has said has always been in my blood.
Sorry for the rambling here, thanks for listening.
Proud to be from NEBRASKA! Great people here, the finest beef in the nation (and NO, I don't mean the football team, although they are among the best too. Just ask Peyton Manning. He probably still remembers THAT game;-) ) Home state of Gerald Ford, Johnny Carson, Col. Barney Oldfield, and Gen. John J. Pershing. The state where Kool-Aid was invented. I've lived in Kentucky, Indianna, and Georgia but I keep coming HOME!
FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!!, although sadly im now in Connecticut. I lived in Florida for 14 of my 17 years on this earth, I was born in CT. moved to florida at 10 months old. I miss the warm weather, the people with southern pride, the beautiful sunsets and the great fishing and good looking trucks and women!!!!!!!!!!! I don't belong up north, but sadly you can't make your own decisions until 18 right? Well, I miss ya'll down there and I'll be back the day i hit 18!!!!!!!!!!
Home of the Outlaws (i think lol), and Lynyrd Skynyrd (I know), two of the best bands of all time!!!!!!!! Not to mention Tom Petty and Daytona!!!!!!!!!! The best race track and sadly the last track Dale Earnhardt ever saw R.I.P. you were, are, and forever will be "The Man" Dale......
Oh yeah and i miss good country stations, people in CT. must only listen to the brand new stuff, or at least that's what the radio stations seem to believe........BRING BACK REAL COUNTRY MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!
<---- My avatar shows my home, The Lone Star State born and raised, and probably till the day i die. To many things and famous people from Texas to list

Proud to live in New Jersey...."The garden state".
Born and raised in Piscataway, N.J. (Founded 1666), and have lived here for 38 years.
Piscataway played a significant role during the revolutionary war.
The battle of Quibbletown took place here, and many skirmishes at Raritan Landing (a significant shipping villiage across the street from Rutgers Stadium in Piscataway).
George Washington lived here at "Ross Hall" from June 30, to July 5 1778 (after the battle of Monmouth).
I'm sure a lot of people get the wrong impression of N.J. when they land at Newark International Airport. The surrounding area is very congested and looks really horrible (in my opinion), but there are a great deal of nice places if you get away from that area. We have the Jersey shore (boardwalks and beach), Atlantic City casinos and boardwalk (where the streets in the game Monopoly came from), the Pine Barrens, Cranberry bogs, Lakes, streams and rivers, and some nice state forests to name a few. There are still a lot of farms and woods throughout N.J., though the state is being developed at a fast rate. Deer, Bear, and wild Turkeys are plentiful! We also share a border with the great state of New York.
Born and did all my younger years in Upper Illinois, High School years in Frisco, Colorado and I've lived in the great state of Florida after that. I miss all the family I have in Ill. and the fantastic weather and scenery of Colo., but you gotta love the winters here in Fla. (Actually had to put on a flannel shirt the other day.)
Besides - I think that it has now been proven that FLORIDA (not New York as previously thought by my co-worker) is the center of the universe. Everything you hear about either starts or is tracked to here.
As for bringing back Real Country Music, the stations this far south aren't that great, you need to go north a little to central Fla. for the good ole music on the radio - for us it's Direct TV's channel 829 for classic country or pop a tape in.
MINNESOTA!!! WOOHOO This state is AWESOME, Land of 10000 PLUS Lakes and home of the Mississippi River and Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue OX. Once ya leave here youll be glad you return!
We have to have one of the most beautiful states in the Union. I transplanted here five years ago from Louisiana. Great people, great things to do, great state to live in (for now)-but GAWD are the politicians here STUPID!
Before making your plans to move here, consider that!
