Michigan ROCKS And Then Some Too!
We got it all. Four seasons, wet land, dry land, farm land, hunting, big cities, (yuk) small towns, (the best) enough weather to go around (just wait five minutes) all packed in to the palm of your hand.
I do like to visit other states though. ALL 150 states have much to offer.
Proud to say I am a transplant from Ohio! Love the place and my roots, but have to admit that I have turned into a warm weather lover. Love to tell the California native born children of mine about the "walking to school, uphill both ways (ha), in the snow" stories... Many good times and memories
Norte California (that's the part where it does rain sometimes).
I live in the Great San Joaquin Valley, the richest ag land in the world! This is the land of fruit STANDS and nut HARVESTERS! I'm 80 miles from the Golden Gate and 80 miles from Yosemite Valley.
The best thing about NORTHERN California is variety:
People - tobacco spitters to granola munchers;
Music - Bluegrass to Blues, plus Merle Haggard and Buck Owens;
Geography - High Tide to High Desert to High Sierra, plus deep sea fishing, freestone creek flyfishing, resevoir bass fishing and delta striper fishing.
In Northern California if you don't like the weather just drive for 15 minutes.
