I have a 99 ranger 4x4 4.0, and the whole brake system seems to be acting up!
About 3 weeks ago the pedal started goin to the floor with little resistance, so i changed out the rear brakes and bled the entire system.. Master Cyl is holdin fluid and i have no leaks that i'm aware of. After changin the rear brakes the truck had more stopping power and more pedal, now 2 weeks after i put the rear brakes on i have the pedal goin to the floor again like it was before!! HELP! The front brakes were done about 6 months ago so no worries up there. But i can stand on the pedal and sometimes the only tires to show abs is the front right.... any help will be WELCOMED!! first timer here too! Thanks!
I cleaned the adjusters good.. i think i'm goin to put new hardware on both sides this weekend and see if thats any better? But i had someone tell me it could be the booster, anyone think so??
Well um is there any way i can test the booster or the master cyl for being faulty?
If you pump up the brakes and hold the pressure. If the pedel stays put under pressure, the master cylinder is not the problem. If under pressure and the pedel goes to the floor, and you can find no leaks the problem would be with the MC.
