T-Case Lever Stuck

I just noticed that I am unable to get my '90 F150 4x4 with a B-W (not sure which model yet, though I could get dirty and crawl around under there on my crappy driveway and find out) T-case and auto locking hubs into 4-Lo. It goes into 4-Hi just fine, but I can't get it into Neutral or 4-Lo for some reason. It feels like the lever is stuck. I had my mechanic buddy take a quick look at it and he has no idea. Is it just me, not throwing it in right? I tried "slamming" (not literally) it into 4-Lo real fast, but my hand flew off the lever and I almost broke my thumb off the steering wheel. I also tried easing it in real slow, and that didn't work either. My hubs lock fine and like I said, I can get it into 4-Hi.

I have a 88 in the shop, it was not shifting either. Remove the linkage at the arm of the transfer case. Try moving there, if it is locked up, problem is internal. On mine the pump arm rotated from notch in the case and was interferring with the linkage...Don

sounds like bent linkage if your not hearing noise. Climb Under and see if you can pull the lever at the transfer case towards the front of the truck. do you plow with it? IF you can't get it to go then it is internal and may need overhaul it will tell you what b-w it is on the case. probably 13-56 . My linkage broke ate the mainbolt and the 1st set of linkage. sheared it off the casting. But with everthing loose I can manualy get under in shift it for now. A pain But its working!!!! good luck
