Need new wheels

So I'm in the market for some new wheels for my truck and I'm deciding between the Weld SS2 and the Stonecrusher. I'm gonna get them in 16.5X12 but I haven't seen the Stonecrushers listed in that size but some site's haven't listed the SS's in that size either but others do.

Best price I've seen on the Supersingle's is $265 and the Stonecrushers a little over $300.

So the question is are these good prices (it seems I remember seeing Supersingle's for $220 somewhere once, maybe on sale), and does anyone have pics of them on their trucks, I've seem JJ's Stonecrushers, and do they in fact make Stonecrushers in 16.5X12? The last would simplify my search a great deal I guess

They do make the Stonecrushers in 16.5x12...that is what Jetjock is running.

I've heard of some issues with the fake beadlock ring on the Stonecrushers making a clicking sound....and also water and mud getting trapped under the fake ring and coming out after you wash the truck and start to drive. I sold the stonecrushers I had before I had a chance to run them so I don't have personal experiece with those issues, but I know a few people with the wheels that do have those issues. I was told that the set of the Stonecrushers I sold clicked pretty good.

Thanks DC. I was leaning toward the SS2's for the price anyway but that helps make up my mind. Does $265 sound about right for them? Like I said it's the best I saw $1060 for 4 and free shipping. If you can think of anywhere else I might look let me know. I'm probably gonna get them soon and do up another 3" of lift. Right now I'm doing PSD go fast mods

$265 a wheel sounds like a good price......in the 4WP ad they show them for $305.99

What go fast mods are you doing?

For what it is worth.....

I was told that the tire/wheel manufacturers are phasing out the 16.5 tires and wheels.

I went with 17's w/the bead lock ring look. They are Ultra's and so far I am happy with them.

My .02

Yes that is what i have and they are 16.5x12".... If i were going to buy a new set of wheels i would not buy 16.5s cause Some of the tire companies dont offer there tires in that size....... so i do belive they are getting phased out in the long run... but if your happy with your tire selection now, theyll still be here..lol just the new styles and sizes leave 16.5"s out... But tires like Micky Thompson, Intercos, and groundhawgs were around when my dad was 16, and will still be sold in 16.5" wheel sizes to our 16 year old children..lol..... ANYway for the wheels themselves.. well i would rather have Chrome the aluminum cause its hard work to keep them shinny.. BUT I DO IT... takes about 1 hour per wheel once every three months(SEE PIC below of my two year old wheels)....... the chrome wheels i had on my jeep were just as shinny ever day i washed them with a sponge and soap...But they were flaking off in places after 1.5 years, so i guess both ways have there benefits, As for looks.. well i LOVE how mine look and wouldnt worry a second about the clicking... They do click though, no doubt about it, but it is not really noticable unless your listeing for it.. i dont think anyone has ever noticed it but me, and it think i did not until DC pointed it out for me to look for..... I love my wheels, but if i were to buy another set i would get the ones Bearhunter has!! BIG and CHrome!!!

Thanks for the replies all. I am really in a quandry now. I just shot off an e-mail to Marty about getting the x-over and track bar so I can put the rest of my lift on and I'm gonna upgrade to 39.5 or 40" tires. I saw that Irok's were available in 16.5 (I love interco tires) (PJ's are now in 38x16.5 too which I didn't used to think they were) but If I'm gonna get new wheels anyway why not go with 39.5x20 Irok's and some new 20" wheels? I'll check out Bearhunter's truck some more and see about some wheel prices for those DUB's!

Next question is are they pretty much limited to 10" width? That's about all I've seen around. I'd love some 20x12 wheels with Irok's

DC, I just got a scmt 1705 so I have a use for my gauges and I'm shopping around for a 4" exhaust at a good price. I also got the AIH delete plug to let a little more air in and I'm looking at piecing together a homemade tymar-like setup for the intake.

I'll probably get a real chip before long and give the 1705 to my dad when I can make him get gauges for his new truck but I wanted something conservative and easy for right now. I'm pretty happy with the power and even pulling the 38's uphill on the floor in 6th I can't get it over about 1150° before I'm going fast enough to scare myself with stock exhaust and intake so I know when I get 4" turbo back and an intake I can handle a lot more fuel.

If I was going new I'd get some 18s with 38/15.50R18 Toyo Open Country MTs. Everyone who has them loves them....good on street, rain, snow, dirt, mud, etc.. and quiet.

I must be lazy compared to jetjock.......I don't think I'd ever get polished wheels, because I wouldn't polish them. I have thought about powdercoating a set of Welds black with a clear powdercoat over that though. Super easy to keep clean .

BTW, I think Bear Hunter's wheels are 20x12.......and I don't believe they are chrome.

You could also run the 40" Toyo MT......but I think they are only currently available in 40/15.50R22 (about $580 a tire). In the wheelpros ad I've seen the KMC Diesel in a 22x14.

If you have the March 2005 Off-Road Magazine on page 49 in the wheelpros.com ad it's the XD series 765 listed in 20x10, 20x12, and 22x14 (I had seen it before called the Diesel and hadn't paid attention to the numbers). On the Wheelpros.com site if you go to products, and look under XD series it comes up as XD765DIESEL...they don't list any pricing on their website though:

Hmm....I've seen a lot of people buying the MTs but haven't heard about them being out of stock yet.

What size are you looking for?

You might try Truck Toyz or SDHQ....they seem to use a lot on the trucks they do.
Off Road Superstores shows pretty good pricing on them on their website.

If I get a set I planned to get them locally....since I can get a better deal than any of the online places and 6 months no interest with them.

Have you called your local Toyo distributors??
