mechanical fuel pump question

i have mechanical fuel pump question for you guys at high rpms the truck runs great but at idle it will slowly die and i noticed a lot of air bubbles coming through the clear fuel filter i have at slow rpms but they go away at fast rpms any ideas i am thinking it is the fuel pump.

It's probably a hole in the line somewhere letting air in, or the pickup is partially plugged causing the gas to be vaporized under vacuum.

the tank is spotless inside the hoses are almost new but the fuel pump is not so i guess i will replace the fuel pump and see what happens

ok i replaced it and it still has the air bubbles but runs fine i am not sure what to do but being that it ran great i decided to melt the tires in the driveway so now i have a excuse to buy new tires.
