Smile Am I doomed?

I have purchased a 2003 f-350 King Ranch 4wd with the 6.0. It had 11,000 miles on it and I was told that it was a buy back from Ford. I was told about what was wrong and that it was waranteed. I love the Truck. It is so sweet, it is the truck of my dreams folks. It runs how you would expect a new truck with that many miles on it to run, like new. The engine was built January 10 2003. I saw the list of problems and was told it was fixed.
Had I looked at this site before I bought the truck, I dont know if I would have bought it. Am I doomed? Did any of theses trucks not have a problem.? Are there any 2003 good trucks? Man I hope so, cause I gotta tell you, I love it. I wonder what the percentage of good 2003 to bad is. Thanks for a great site and super people!

I bought my Dec 2002 build 2003 King Ranch in March 2003. I have had a few minor problems but all were taken care of by the dealer. I absolutely love my truck. Currently 19,000 miles and hasn't left me stranded yet. Don't worry about problems, just enjoy it!

I found this over on the flat rate tech forum:

03 F350 DRW CC 6.0 TS 4.10LS with 201,230 miles. Used daily towing RV's commercially. Only problem was at 184,600 miles that started as a cold starting problem. Fixed by a new EGR valve and then wouldn't run when warmed up. Traced to the HPOP and a couple bad injectors. Runs like a champ now. Gets 11-12 mpg towing and 16-18 empty.
Oh yea, 01/23/03 build with 01/20/03 engine

I have an March 03 engine build. I had an issue with leaky rear main that was fixed and a few other minor issues. The dealer I use fixed it right up. I have just under 30,000 miles. It is a good truck. I wouldn't trade it now that Ford got their act together on the latest flash. Drive it and enjoy it.

I have a good friend with an early 03. He had big time injector problems and after those were replaced his has been trouble free. The 03 strategy engines make more power than the later ones so enjoy it!

Hi Kurt:If I understand your post correctly then the sticker that reads 325 hp 560 lbs torque on my 04 may be incorrect,or were the 03 making more power than this? Just wondering.

Vic at the SuperChips thread is probably one of the best ones to give you accurate numbers on how much more power the 03 strategy engine makes than more recent motors. If you have an early 04 it will have the 03 engine - I had one of those and it seemed to have more power than my 05 even though the torque number for the 05 is rated higher by Ford. Vic and some others on the forum have actual dyno results for these motors - my guess is that none of them are going to make 325 hp at the wheels stock. I don't trust my memory and don't have time this morning to go back and find the numbers that have been published on the forum.
