I am taking the "Big Iron" in for the latest flash in the morning.
My trusted diesel mechanic whom I have known for over 20 years,
told me that if I was with my truck now, I would be ,
and more and with it after the latest flash. I only have the Oct 03
flash . Who knows, I may not even want to use the Predator or the
SCMT 1704 any more!

eharman: I was in the same boat as you. I have an 03 that was having problems with rolling idle. They gave it the Oct.03 flash. I lost pilot injection, some power, and about 1-1.5mpg. Then I started having very harsh downshifts from 2-1 in tow mode. I got it flashed with the latest and greatest about a month ago. I have to say it runs better, always starts up fast, no smoke, has improved throttle response and power, and the mileage is about the same in town, maybe a little better on the highway. Don't know about the tow mode yet, haven't been able to hook up the boat due to weather here. I was dreading that flash, but so far, most everyone is happy with it. Including me.Good luck.
eharman, I have an early 03, I got stung with the Oct 03 flash too. I got the latest flash right after it came out. It's a winner. Better accelerator response. Mileage is up to 16-17 around town and 18.5-19.5 on the highway. It is smoother shifting but a little louder when cold. I give it a B+
The latest flash is a BIG improvement. The idle is smooth, (tail pipe no
longer moves around) acelleration is greatly improved, and the t/h mode
is great. The lower gear shifts in the t/h is mode super smooth. I brought my
TT trailer home from the dealer (warranty work) and the t/h worked better
than before. This truck runs like it did before the Oct 03 flash, of course
without the PI. Overall I am ! , EJ
