This place is such a wealth of knowledge maybe someone can help me save some time with the trial and error process.
I just picked up a Holley 600 cfm vacuum secondary carb to put on my 65 cc. It has the 352 with headers and 3" exhaust granny tranny 4 speed Dura spark ignition.
The question is, what size jets would you run? If anyone has this combo.
I am going to rebuild it before installation so it sure would be the right time to install the right jets.
That all depends on YOUR truck... If the carb was running good when you picked it up and the prior owner seemed to have it dial in fine, then start with what you have and go from there. The thing with carbs is that the motor will dictate what to set it at, therefore the settings vary from one to the other.
jd-it also depends on which 600 cfm Holley carb you have. Get the list number off the choke air horn and post it. If it the universal List 1850 carb I would start with 63 or 64 jets. Notice I said "start", Mike is absolutely correct that your engine will determine what your carb settings will be.
That is what I hear about start with these jets. That is why I was looking for a start point. I appreciate the help. The guy that sold it says it was running good on a 351 w. So when I get it in my hands I will post the numbers for more help.
I will also have a Motorcraft 4 barrel for sale any idea how much do they go for?
I would think the jets for the prior motor should be a good starting point if it was running good. I have no idea what they are worth, I have one also. I think off the Thunderbird 390 I first installed in my truck.
