So in my quest for info on front axles (dana 70) i found some really cool sites with a lot of info, here is one that has a lot on the internals of dana's 60's (for nearly everything they came in as well as dana 70 front axle's), on the bottom the is a link to a chart with that info, also if you click the homepage, there are links to dana 44 info as well: http://77cj.littlekeylime.com/Dana60.htm
Then there is this page:http://differentialeng.com/dana.htm, scroll about 2/3 of the page down and you will see a very interesting front axle that brings to words to mind, GOT BEEF, and if you go to the homepage you will find links to the other axles that they can make.
