Any way the springs were custom. A guy named Thomas Keiffer had those on an '86 Ranger and was featured in several magazines including OffRoad I believe. He had a solid D44 under it among other things like a 3" body lift, 44" super swampers on 15x12 rims and a 302 (307) with a Holley 600. The steering was custom by Big O OffRoad in Indiana. The Ranger also had a 9" rear and had 5.41:1 gearing and a C4 tranny. It split time in FL and New Jersey. He had a special set of "drop" head lights to keep it legal in FL. in Jersey he would have been hanged.
Yea, way goofy. But then, I imagine its a mall cruiser (dana 44 with 44's among other things) so I guess it doesn't matter. Thats just not the way to get big lift...

It was a show truck and a minimonster truck sorta like the one Chandlers wife used to run back in the 80s, and he did pretty good with it in that context. Its been a while since the truck was dismantled. It kinda intrigued me. I got interested in those springs because the possiblity of getting custom coils made was something I hadn't considered before. I don't want tall ones but ones that have 78/79 style bottom mounts and 80-96 style upper mounts that minimize bulging in sas.
On an additional note, I believe he had the 3" of lift for the 302 conversion and headers.
